About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for developing and providing a specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to individuals with complex communication needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy service, ensuring best practice and adherence to national guidelines.
  • Assess, formulate, and manage a complex caseload, including individuals with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Dysphagia.
  • Coordinate access to Speech and Language Therapy services across multiple sites, ensuring seamless delivery and effective communication.
  • Represent the Speech and Language Therapy service at internal and external forums, promoting the service and its values.
  • Mentor, supervise, and manage junior Speech and Language Therapists, Assistant Speech and Language Therapists, and students, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
Requirements
  • Recognized Speech and Language Therapy degree or diploma, with registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Portfolio of relevant post-qualification Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including Communication and Dysphagia.
  • Significant experience of assessing and managing complex caseloads, including SLCN and Dysphagia.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly specialist knowledge of Speech and Language Therapy, including assessment and intervention tools, and national policy and guidance.
