Job Title: Senior Medicines Advice Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Medicines Advice Pharmacist to join our dedicated Pharmacy team at Maudsley Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering expert medicines advice and clinical pharmacy services within a world-renowned mental health trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist medicines advice to healthcare professionals at all levels, including consultant psychiatrists, and to patients and carers both nationally and internationally.
  • Deliver a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to designated wards, ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines.
  • Supervise and train trainee pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists rotating through the Medicines Advice service, contributing to their professional development.
  • Lead and coordinate research and clinical audits related to psychiatric medications and contribute to the development of national standards in medicines information.
  • Organize and deliver lectures and seminars for medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, as well as education sessions for patients and carers.
Requirements:
  • MPharm degree or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) with ongoing mandatory CPD.
  • Extensive experience in psychiatric pharmacy and medicines information.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge of psychiatric medications and their application in mental health care.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and expert advice.
  • Experience in supervising and training pharmacists.
