Key Responsibilities:- Provide specialist medicines advice to healthcare professionals at all levels, including consultant psychiatrists, and to patients and carers both nationally and internationally.
- Deliver a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to designated wards, ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines.
- Supervise and train trainee pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists rotating through the Medicines Advice service, contributing to their professional development.
- Lead and coordinate research and clinical audits related to psychiatric medications and contribute to the development of national standards in medicines information.
- Organize and deliver lectures and seminars for medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, as well as education sessions for patients and carers.
- MPharm degree or equivalent.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) with ongoing mandatory CPD.
- Extensive experience in psychiatric pharmacy and medicines information.
- Advanced clinical knowledge of psychiatric medications and their application in mental health care.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and expert advice.
- Experience in supervising and training pharmacists.
