Responsibilities of the role include:

* Having excellent communication skills

* Having a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children's development
* Ensuring the safety and well-being of the student

Although the role is based around education support, due to the children's personal needs and behaviours they require consistent mentoring, motivating and advising, as well as some counselling, so their well-being can remain stable meaning they can achieve much more in their education and work towards an independent future. Behaviours displayed by the children can be challenging so applicants must be prepared to practice De-escalation and calming techniques, as well as maintaining an empathetic approach and understanding that behaviours stem from other problems. Candidates from care, sports, psychology, criminology, sociology and youth work backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Job Specification

* Having experience working with children, or adults, with additional needs
* Holding a L2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
* Able to support children of all abilities
* Having a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
