Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team at Primary Care Careers in Colchester. This part-time role will involve providing urgent medical care to patients in a variety of settings, including the practice and patient homes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Respond to referrals and provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in need of urgent care.
  • Support the development of our on-the-day emergency patient service in the practice.
  • Triage and prioritize home visit requests to ensure timely and effective care.
  • Evaluate clinical information and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient clinical records.

About Us

Our practice is a town centre facility with a list size of 9000 patients. We utilize Emis Web and offer a range of consultation methods, including face-to-face, video, and telephone. We pride ourselves on supporting our staff in their personal and professional goals, and offer a full range of primary care services.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Paramedic with HCPC registration and post-registration experience, preferably in primary care.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively assess, plan, treat, and refer patients, and evaluate patient care confidently.
  • Experience working to protocols and guidelines, as well as patient groups and specific directives.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in autonomous practice and multi-professional team working.
