About the Trust
LYPFT has introduced an enhanced starting salary for newly appointed consultants, beginning at £105,390 at pay point YC72 point 04.

This position encompasses 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) along with a 1% availability for out-of-hours on-call responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Hold RC responsibilities for up to 12 male inpatients under both restricted and unrestricted sections of the Mental Health Act
- Conduct access assessments for the West Yorkshire secure provider collaborative
- Provide risk assessment and management guidance to colleagues in acute services
- Anticipate conducting approximately two assessments per month
- Offer strong clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team to stabilize acute mental health conditions and manage associated risks. Service users may have various pathways, including remission to prison, transfer to rehabilitation, or direct discharge to the community
- Deliver high-quality, efficient, and effective care in a trauma-informed collaborative manner
- Educate, train, and supervise junior medical staff and other professionals
- Adhere to the standards set by the GMC and the Royal College of Psychiatrists
- Participate in the Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust general adult on-call rota, serving as third on-call
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- MBBS
- CCT or CESR in Forensic or WAA psychiatry (with relevant experience) or anticipated inclusion on the GMC specialist register within six months
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
- Approved under Section 12 (2)
- Approved Clinician status (may be anticipated within three months)
Skills and Experience
