Job Title: Early Years Outreach Worker

Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Outreach Worker to join our team in Frankley Plus Children's Centre/Family Hub. As an integral part of our Early Years Outreach team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to families with children under the age of five.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to engage with families and promote positive play and child development.
  • Provide and promote Stay & Play sessions, positive play, and key public health messages in group work.
  • Deliver crèche facilities for under 5s while parents/carers participate in parent-focused activities/programmes.
  • Undertake 2-year development checks and follow-up visits to families who have not engaged with the service.
  • Support the delivery of baby activities to meet the health and development needs of children and families.
  • Collect and collate evidence to demonstrate outcomes for children.
  • Ensure the suitability, safety, and cleanliness of toys and equipment, replenishing supplies as required.
  • Support parents with children under 5 who have SEND needs, ensuring inclusive practice and signposting to specialist support.
  • Maintain effective links with family support services, sharing relevant information as appropriate.

  • Flexibility and adaptability, particularly in relation to working hours and location.
  • Ability to travel independently across the district.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
