About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Coding Auditor to join our team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Coding Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of coded data, working closely with clinicians, managers, and other staff members to achieve high-quality coding standards.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Clinical Coding in various specialties and be able to provide complex Clinical Coding advice and information to colleagues within the NHS. You will also be responsible for supporting the divisions on new clinical practices or procedures, agreeing on code assignments, and cascading knowledge and understanding of the procedure to the Clinical Coding team.

In addition, you will liaise with clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals on a regular basis to provide and help with information as required. You will also represent the trust at the Regional Clinical Coding Advisory group and feedback on/action any issues raised as appropriate.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Coding Auditor who is passionate about delivering high-quality coding standards and has a strong understanding of Clinical Coding principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Internal Clinical Coding Audit programme and the trust's annual DSPT Audit
  • Monitor data quality and clinical coding standards in line with local and national guidelines
  • Report any complex coding issues as directed for verification and follow up with relevant staff
  • Work closely with wards and the data quality team to ensure accurate, timely, standardized, and robust data to support performance
  • Represent the trust at the Regional Clinical Coding Advisory group and feedback on/action any issues raised as appropriate

Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Clinical Coding in various specialties
