Care Quality Commission Registered Manager

Varang Healthcare is seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Manager to lead our home care service in the local community, providing high-quality care to elderly and vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality care services to vulnerable people living in their own homes.
  • Manage and deploy teams of care workers who provide care and support to vulnerable adults.
  • Implement and maintain effective policies, procedures, and approved practices to promote the aims of Varang Healthcare.
  • Meet and exceed all financial and growth targets.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Implement supervision and appraisal policies for all staff, including regular supervision and appraisal.
  • Ensure efficient scheduling of care staff to enable them to spend allocated care time with each service user.
  • Ensure care staff follow agreed care and service user plans, including visit length, and work in a manner that meets or exceeds the CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Confirm all visits, including times, through signed timesheets by service users and care workers (except for service users unable to sign).
  • Liaise with office staff to plan marketing activity and spend, and make recommendations to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure all care staff complete required training to meet the CQC Fundamental Standards and complete the Care Certificate prior to probation signoff.
  • Identify development and training needs for care staff, source and recommend training programs, and participate in the provision of such training.
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment, training, and supervision.
  • Ensure accurate records of sickness, holiday, and other absence for all staff.
  • Conduct initial assessments for service users, including care needs assessments and health and safety risk assessments as required under the CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Maintain records of assessments and take actions to mitigate risk.
  • Be responsible for the health and safety of staff and service users by ensuring company health and safety policies and procedures are always applied, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Consult with service users and their informal carers during care planning and throughout service provision.
  • Conduct service user reviews and record them in line with CQC Fundamental Standards and Local Authority requirements.
  • Manage complaints, compliments, and comments, including remedial action and record keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, especially in relation to service user and care worker records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll and invoicing.
  • Collect monies due from care workers in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain harmonious working relationships with Local Authority representatives.
  • Attend and participate in Local Authority meetings as appropriate.
  • Manage the office budget and operate as a profit center.
  • Be aware of Key Performance Indicators and accurately report statistics daily/weekly/by period to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication within the office, with field staff, with users, purchasers, and other stakeholders.
  • Apply Company policies and procedures relating to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice in the management and delivery of the service.
  • Provide on-call and care services as required to ensure the safe and efficient output of the business.
