Advanced Practitioner in Emergency Nursing

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde stands as one of the largest healthcare organizations in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 professionals across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We currently have openings for one full-time position (37 hours) and one part-time position (28.4 hours). Please note that salaries will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time roles.
As part of our commitment to employee well-being, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours starting from April 2024, with no alteration in salary. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. It is important to note that while this adjustment is being implemented, some service areas may require staff to work an additional 30 minutes temporarily until the new schedules are fully established. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert guidance to a multidisciplinary team, including senior medical professionals. Our service operates around the clock, providing assessments and facilitating access to mental health inpatient services as needed. This role involves coordinating hospital admissions for patients when necessary. Given the urgent nature of Unscheduled Care, the post-holder will be expected to respond effectively to patient needs, manage their own workload, and oversee junior staff, ensuring optimal use of available resources to meet all patient requirements.
The post-holder will report directly to the Nurse Team Leader and will be expected to provide coverage in their absence. Support will be available through regular line management supervision.
Our service operates continuously and is supported by multiple bases throughout NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
