Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate SEMH experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Preston-based secondary pupil referral unit.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) in an alternative provision or PRU setting. They will demonstrate resilience, patience and an ability to strike up rapport and develop relationships with SEMH pupils.

The school requires a teaching assistant to support students' learning across Key Stage 3 and 4. Pupils arrive at the school having struggled to access learning in their previous school/s, and clear routines and therapies are implemented in school to help re-engage students with the education system.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEMH and be able to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for pupils. They will work closely with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each pupil.

Rates of £85-£100 per day are available, dependant upon experience and qualification. The school are looking to take someone on through an initial long term, temporary period, with a view to subsequently offering a permanent contract to the right candidate.
