As a Support Engineer at Spirent Positioning Technology, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional technical support to our international clientele. Our Positioning Technologies business unit is at the forefront of innovation, designing and manufacturing advanced satellite navigation test and simulation systems that pave the way for tomorrow's communications.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Support: Respond to incoming Service Requests from customers, sales engineers, and sales teams via online portals, email, and telephone, providing solutions to hardware and software problems.
- Collaboration: Liaise with software and hardware engineers to analyze and resolve complex customer issues, identifying hardware or software design flaws.
- Installation and Support: Provide on-site installation and technical support for Spirent customers when required, ensuring seamless integration of our solutions.
- Level 1 Hardware Repair and Calibration: Offer level 1 hardware repair and calibration services for positioning, navigation, and timing customers, ensuring optimal performance.
- Technical Expertise: Direct experience providing technical customer support, with a strong understanding of satellite navigation concepts and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and standards.
- Software and Hardware Proficiency: Experience with Linux OS, standard RF test equipment, and tools such as Salesforce and Jira.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, sales teams, and engineering teams.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel within Europe and occasionally further afield, up to 20% of the time, to support customers and attend training sessions.
