Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire

Contract Type: Long Term

Leader Education is seeking dedicated Learning Support Workers to work in SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) settings based in Pontefract. Our schools cater to young people aged 11-16 who have significant SEMH needs and may have been excluded from mainstream education.

We are looking for individuals with experience in supporting students with challenging behaviour, either in education or care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in a SEMH or PRU setting
  • Work with students who have challenging behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and external agencies
  • Respond effectively and calmly to challenging situations
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
