Position Overview
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of both direct and indirect patient care, alongside the meticulous collection of source data for clinical research initiatives conducted within the department, adhering to the UK Medicines for Human Use Clinical Trial Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of tailored care strategies for participants involved in clinical trials.
- Deliver patient-centered care, ensuring a high-quality experience for individuals participating in research studies.
- Engage in promoting awareness and integrating research within the organization, providing opportunities for patients to participate in research as part of their routine care.
- Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, offering guidance and support to clinical teams regarding research-related issues while maintaining clinical competencies.
- During critical periods, contribute to clinical services as directed by senior management, in alignment with organizational policies.
Core Duties
- Provide compassionate, patient-focused care in accordance with organizational guidelines, ensuring that documentation standards are maintained in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Foster and sustain positive relationships among all staff involved in patient care, implementing evidence-based practices.
- Identify, screen, and enroll participants in research studies based on established inclusion and exclusion criteria, facilitating participant withdrawal when necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with research participants, their families, and other members of the research team, acting as an advocate for participants and ensuring data integrity.
- Report adverse events and serious adverse events promptly, following established protocols and in consultation with senior research personnel.
- Manage trial-specific supplies in accordance with study protocols, ensuring efficient use of resources and participation in the evaluation of clinical practices to enhance quality care.
