Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Bristol, UK

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Bristol. The successful candidate will work closely with the Class Teacher to support a Year 1 child with SEMH and Speech and Language needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to the child, adapting activities to meet their needs and assessing their development.
  • Work closely with the SENDCo to understand the child's needs and develop strategies to support their progress.
  • Create a stimulating and purposeful learning environment that promotes the child's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Manage and support the child's needs, including their SEMH and Speech and Language requirements.
  • Assess and communicate the child's successes and developments to the Class Teacher and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH and Speech and Language needs.
  • High expectations for the child's success and a commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to work closely with the Class Teacher and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support the child's progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
