Key Responsibilities
As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Practitioner, your primary duties will include:
- Conducting forensic sampling, including blood tests related to road traffic incidents.
- Providing guidance and facilitating referrals to support individuals facing vulnerabilities and assisting them in breaking cycles of re-offending.
- Implementing substance misuse treatment programs.
- Assessing and caring for detainees and staff within custody environments.
- Managing acute medical conditions.

- Collaborating with Liaison and Diversion services to identify mental health requirements.

Role Insights
This position presents an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses and qualified Paramedics with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience. The custody environment is dynamic, ensuring that no two days are alike.
During the maximum 24-hour detention period, we provide comprehensive care tailored to the diverse needs of detainees, which may range from substance dependency to urgent medical situations. Our healthcare professionals are trained to collect forensic evidence that aids law enforcement investigations.
Work Schedule
This role offers a balanced work-life structure with a 4-on-4-off shift pattern, allowing for effective personal planning. The schedule consists of two day shifts followed by two night shifts, culminating in four consecutive days off.
