Assistant Director of Housing - Community

Spirehouse is partnering with whg to find an exceptional Assistant Director of Housing to lead the Community Housing, Community Safety, and Neighbourhoods Teams across the region.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a senior leader to provide effective leadership and direction to the Community Housing Directorate, ensuring that services meet legal and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Lead the Community Housing, Community Safety, and Neighbourhoods Teams to deliver high-quality services and achieve strategic objectives.
  2. Collaborate with the Director of Housing and Customer Services and the Assistant Director of Housing - Customer to ensure alignment and effective challenge management.
  3. Embed and deliver the Community Housing Model, ensuring that key principles are upheld and services are managed efficiently.
  4. Hold accountability for ensuring that services meet legal and regulatory responsibilities, and manage risk effectively.
  5. Work with senior leaders and external stakeholders to assess community needs and develop programmes to address them.
  6. Manage budget performance, promoting innovation, efficiency, customer focus, and value for money.
  7. Ensure that all aspects of Community Housing, Community Safety, and Neighbourhoods are managed effectively and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a senior housing role, preferably as a Head of Housing or similar.
  • A degree-level qualification and experience of managing a housing team at a senior level.
  • Ideal: Level 5 certificate in Housing.
  • Knowledge of Statutory and Regulatory requirements, relevant to housing management.
  • A values-driven leader with a passion for community engagement and resident involvement.
