Position Overview
Forest Medical is seeking a qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist with a current and valid registration with the NMC. The successful candidate will join our extensive healthcare team, providing services across multiple locations.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in wound management, chronic illness care, cytology, and immunization practices.
A minimum of six months of experience in a similar role is required. We are committed to offering additional training to the right individual in accordance with the needs of our practice.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Delivering comprehensive nursing care and managing long-term health conditions for our patient population in line with established protocols.
- Identifying, planning, and executing health promotion initiatives within the practice, aligned with Quality and Outcomes Framework and national health objectives.
- Continuously assessing nursing care requirements, developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans, including patient education and preventive measures.
Main Duties
The major duties include:
- Providing assessment, screening, treatment services, and health education.
- Coordinating nursing services across practice locations and delegating tasks to other staff as necessary.
- Administering nursing treatments in collaboration with General Practitioners or according to established protocols.
- Performing various clinical procedures, including aseptic dressing, ear syringing, vaccinations, and cervical smears, following the required training.
- Managing health screenings for at-risk groups and ensuring appropriate referrals to General Practitioners.
- Participating in specialized clinics for asthma and diabetes management, ensuring effective patient recall systems.
- Conducting home visits for elderly and housebound patients, liaising with relevant agencies as needed.
- Engaging in annual immunization campaigns and additional service agreements as required.
Administrative Duties
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role includes:
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
- Familiarity with the practice's computer systems.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to practice policies and strategies.
- Assisting in the development of nursing protocols in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Professional Development

Infection Control
