About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our team at idpp, a leading international telecommunications organisation. As a key member of our project team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our network implementation project for a large, regulated construction environment.

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling project costs, ensuring expenditures are within the approved budget. You will also be responsible for ensuring all activities comply with site safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring expenditures are within the approved budget.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with site safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Contract Administration: Monitor and manage contractual agreements with sub-contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of project milestones.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports to stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and contractors.
Critical Success Factors
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Precise cost estimation and diligent financial tracking to prevent budget overruns.
  • Effective Communication: Clear coordination with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Anticipating and addressing potential cost and procurement issues before they impact the project timeline or budget.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Maintaining strict adherence to site safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure project compliance and safety.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Educated to a Degree level in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in a quantity surveyor role within a regulated construction environment, with evidence of commercial management success.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
