Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, customer-centric planning services, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Manage a variety of planning applications, providing expert advice and guidance throughout the process.
- Prepare and present detailed reports to planning committees and other stakeholders, representing the Council at hearings and inquiries.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, local authorities, and external partners to foster strong working relationships.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of planning legislation and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Mentor and support junior staff, sharing your expertise to enhance team capabilities.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in planning, ideally within a local authority or private sector context.
- A degree in Planning or a related field.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Comprehensive understanding of planning legislation and the development management process.
