Transport Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all customer requirements are satisfied daily, providing compliant, efficient, and profitable transport operations.
  • Act as a key management interface with customers, coordinating fleet and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop and manage a team of drivers, providing skills and training to meet operational requirements and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage suppliers, including sub-contractors, agencies, and repair and maintenance service agents, to control operational costs.
  • Conduct regular driver/vehicle/trailer checks to ensure the highest standards of reliability and presentation.
  • Ensure full compliance with all company internal processes and procedures, including O License legislation.
  • Provide weekly management information reporting.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in fast-paced logistics operations.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Demonstrates responsible, ethical, and honest behaviour in all roles, tasks, and responsibilities.
  • General knowledge of current UK transport operations and legislation.
  • Holder of Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers or willing to undertake training to achieve this qualification.
  • Excellent IT literacy, ideally with knowledge of fleet management and transport management software.
  • Excellent self-motivation and ability to work under own supervision.
  • Team player with the ability to instil confidence and drive in others.
