As part of our dynamic team, you will join a collaborative and innovative culture supported by over 2,500 associates across various locations. We are currently seeking an Electronics Component Specialist to enhance our Supply Chain Engineering team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our currency acceptor products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects focused on resolving obsolescence challenges, enhancing productivity, and improving product quality.
- Engage with stakeholders to outline project requirements, constraints, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct hands-on prototyping and circuit analysis within an electronics laboratory.
- Create schematics and perform detailed circuit evaluations to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
- Design, simulate, prototype, and implement value engineering initiatives for product and component redesigns.
- Document qualification test outcomes in comprehensive technical reports.
- Oversee project management and maintain project plans for PCBA redesigns, supplier transitions, cost reduction initiatives, and other support projects.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborative brainstorming sessions.
- Travel to various sites as necessary to support manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
- Assist manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and quality enhancement projects.
- Work effectively with diverse teams across multiple locations while also being capable of independent work.
- Take charge of personal career development, continually learning and staying updated with technological advancements.
- Support initiatives within the global CPI Supply Chain Engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in designing and developing digital and analog electronic systems.
- Familiarity with the design and biasing of bipolar transistors and MOSFETs in oscillator and closed-loop control systems.
- Ability to specify appropriate operational amplifiers and comparators without unnecessary over-specification.
- Experience with power switching circuits, including the selection of suitable power switches and flywheel diodes.
- Knowledge of resonant circuits utilizing operational amplifiers and comparator components.
- Background in motor drive systems, particularly with brushless DC motors and drivers.
- Understanding of optical and electromagnetic sensors and their functionalities.
- General awareness of emerging technologies and their potential benefits.
- Proficient in schematic capture tools such as Cadstar or Mentor Graphics.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and ability to deliver results.
- Capability to manage sub-projects within the broader project framework.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to transform concepts into practical solutions.
- Practical knowledge of electronics design in relation to EMC theory.
- Strong communication skills to engage in technical discussions with peers and senior management.
- Proven ability to meet project deadlines.
- A relevant engineering qualification is required.
- Experience in electronics design is essential.
