Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the hardware development team by creating custom test fixtures and cables.
- Modify and repair complex SMT cards to maintain alignment with the latest development stages.
- Construct test racks and fittings that comply with project test plans.
- Design and build test equipment and cable assemblies to support engineering development and commissioning.
- Create demonstrators, including mechanical enclosures and simple PCBs.
- Collaborate with team members to identify challenging engineering issues, propose solutions, and assist in problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate records of built test equipment and uphold high standards of cleanliness in the assigned area, including all technician tools and assets.
- Adhere to company policies and practices, particularly regarding health and safety.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively, even under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Participate in design reviews with electrical and mechanical hardware engineers.
- Estimate time and effort for tasks and ensure adherence to these estimates for cost and schedule compliance.
- Safeguard information security as outlined in the Security manual to comply with government regulations.


Required Experience:
- Ideally possess a degree or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering-related field, such as Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software, or Systems Engineering.
- Highly skilled in electronic wiring and soldering to IPC standards.
- Experience with prototype builds and a solid understanding of electronic circuits.
- Proficient in electronic rework and repair, particularly with fine pitch SMT PCBs.
- Ability to interpret electronic schematics, wiring schedules, mechanical drawings, and BOMs.
- Capable of working independently with minimal guidance.
- Able to work with limited supervision and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in the Defence/Aerospace sector or a safety-regulated environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Windchill for version control.
- Current certification to IPC-A-610.
- Experience with electronic testing and knowledge of lab measurement equipment.
