Trades Trainer, Welding and Plating

A&P Group is seeking an experienced Trades Trainer to join our team. As a Trades Trainer, you will be responsible for providing hands-on training and instruction to apprentices in the art of welding and plating.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver training programs for apprentices in welding and plating practices, including MIG, TIG, and MMA.
  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices as they develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Work with the Training Officer and Fabrication team to develop and improve onsite training modules.
  • Coordinate and arrange tests and exams for apprentices.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and updates with apprentices, managers, and skilled tradespeople to ensure attendance and progress is good.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition and safe.
Requirements:
  • Experience in industry with a strong understanding of good practices.
  • Experience in general welding and plating practices, including MIG, TIG, and MMA.
  • Ability to engage with, mentor, and challenge young adults.
  • Knowledge of Welding and Fabrication Apprenticeship regulations and standards is desirable but not essential.
