About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trainee Teaching Assistant to join our team at Underley Garden School, part of Options Autism. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils with complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Non-Verbal and Pre-Verbal and Communicational difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with their emotional and physical needs, helping them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.
  • Prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with supervision and guidance from experienced staff.
  • Take responsibility for personal care duties to support our students.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to deliver a holistic, person-centred approach to education.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • GCSE C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work in a variety of classroom roles and settings.
  • A commitment to the values and principles of Options Autism and the Outcomes First Group.
