About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Trainee Teaching Assistant at Underley Garden School, part of Options Autism. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils with complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and other disabilities.

Our school adopts a holistic, person-centred approach to the development of our young people, aiming to ensure they achieve as high a standard as possible. You will work closely with our experienced team to provide individualized support, preparing learning materials, and running classroom activities. Your role will involve taking responsibility for the emotional and physical needs of our pupils, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and other disabilities
  • Prepare learning materials and run classroom activities
  • Take responsibility for the emotional and physical needs of our pupils
  • Work closely with our experienced team to provide individualized support
Requirements
  • GCSE C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • No prior experience necessary, as we provide full training and development
  • Adaptable and willing to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside

Our school is located near the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, on the edge of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
