Lead Financial Strategist

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Lead Financial Strategist within our Financial Accounting division, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller.

The Financial Accounting division is responsible for managing the company's financial accounting operations, including lease accounting, non-current assets, taxation, compliance, statutory reporting, and consolidation.


Key Responsibilities:
As a pivotal member of our team, you will:

  • Oversee financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Manage the management accounting function to deliver timely insights into business performance through high-quality management information.
  • Drive improvements in margin, cash flow, and working capital through effective project controlling and overhead management initiatives.
  • Coach and develop the management accounting team as necessary.
  • Act as the primary reviewer and presenter of monthly management accounts for various entities, including international subsidiaries.
  • Review and oversee monthly management reporting packages, including consolidated profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Supervise project reporting, sales margin reports, and all financial KPIs to enhance margin and working capital.
  • Analyze deferred and accrued balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely reconciliations at both customer and project levels to provide clear visibility of forecast revenue and margin.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide insightful commentary on performance against budget and forecasts.
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Serve as the key liaison to the broader business, ensuring the management accounting function delivers relevant information to internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and take ownership of key performance indicators for overall financial and operational performance, providing recommendations for improvement where applicable.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for process enhancement and automation across the organization.
  • Play a significant role in year-end and external audit processes, supporting ad hoc projects as required by senior management.


Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or a proven track record through demonstrable experience.
  • Experience in a management accounting team within a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to manage full-cycle management accounts and month-end processes with precision.
  • In-depth knowledge of FRS101 and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Experience in interpreting financial data and presenting reports to senior management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ambition with strong commercial acumen and proven business partnering skills.
  • Experience in project accounting.
  • Familiarity with IFS (ERP system).
