Senior Project Manager – Data Centre Development

About Us: People Group is a prominent global multi-disciplinary construction consultancy.
Role Summary: We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to become an integral part of our Data Centre delivery team.
This position is client-facing and involves collaboration within a professional and driven team. You will spearhead the client's project and program management goals, focusing on a significant hyperscale initiative exceeding £1 billion.
Desired Experience:
- In-depth knowledge and experience in large-scale Data Centre initiatives within the real estate domain
- Familiarity with master planning, strategic estate development, and capital project planning for business case formulation is advantageous
- Proven experience in client-facing roles across various levels
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Manager, your duties will include:
- Overseeing and directing large-scale and intricate data centre projects in the real estate sector, from initial feasibility through design, construction, and final delivery
- Formulating and executing project strategies, plans, and extensive budgets for complex construction endeavors
- Establishing and sustaining effective processes and systems throughout the project lifecycle
- Tracking and reporting on project advancement and other performance metrics
- Identifying and managing risks and challenges
- Creating and delivering written project communication materials
- Preparing and presenting formal project updates and reports
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, and design teams
- Facilitating and leading meetings, including drafting minutes and action items
Additional Responsibilities:
- Developing and presenting materials for client presentations and pitches
- Maintaining and updating critical information in the internal database
- Providing thought leadership and insights on emerging trends and innovations in the Data Centre real estate sector
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
- Appropriate qualifications in project management or construction management
- Membership in a recognized chartered institute (e.g., RICS / CIOB) is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of construction industry and Data Centre sector themes
- Comprehensive knowledge of project lifecycle and business case approval processes
- Proven track record of successfully delivering hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion
