Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a pivotal role in providing financial guidance and support to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Strategy
    • Contribute to the development of our finance strategy, working closely with senior management to achieve both short and long-term objectives.
    • Provide financial guidance and support to senior managers and other team members to ensure effective financial management.
  • Funding and Grants
    • Assist in the preparation of major funding applications, ensuring that all necessary financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to foster and maintain effective working relationships, ensuring that our financial goals are aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Regularly coach, mentor, and support colleagues to enhance their skills and competence in financial and budgetary processes.
    • Support the development of our team members, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Develop and maintain robust financial systems for planning, control, and reporting, providing accurate and timely financial information to support management decisions.
    • Proactively manage our cash flow forecasting, ensuring that our financial resources are allocated effectively.
  • Process Improvement
    • Continuously monitor and review finance systems and processes for improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • Degree level qualification in a business-related subject or equivalent, or qualified as an accounting technician (e.g., IATI) with three years of accounting experience.
    • Three years' experience managing staff performance to achieve high service delivery standards and leading an effective team.
    • Three years' experience in a management role within a finance department.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Knowledge of charitable accounting principles.
