About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Treasury Management Officer to join our Corporate Team within Finance Services at Rochdale Council.

Reporting to the Tax & Treasury Management Senior Accountant, you will support the provision of a comprehensive Treasury Management function for the Council and assist in the co-ordination and direction of the workload within the team.

About You

You will play a key role in ensuring the council fulfils its Treasury obligations, including borrowing, investment, cash flow management, banking and money market transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Key Duties:

  • Production and oversight of the Council's annual cashflow projections.
  • Carrying out day to day Treasury activity, including the analysis of borrowing and investment opportunities.
  • Managing the risk associated with these activities while striving to achieve optimal performance.
  • Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of treasury budgets, ensuring that transactions are accounted for correctly to produce year-end accounts and returns.
  • Financial advice and support together with the production /analysis of accurate financial information to stakeholders throughout the Council, liaising with our partners and advisors.
  • Management of the Council's banking & purchase card contracts and the school investment scheme.

Requirements:

  • Financial expertise and knowledge of Treasury Management practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
