Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Officer to join our Policy team at the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of our education inspection policy and methodology, driving improvement through the education system with a clear focus on pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage policies, guidance, and frameworks to support the delivery of our work.
  • Manage a programme of work, ensuring effective coordination and delivery of projects.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including team members, policymakers, and education professionals.
  • Promote change and influence the behavior and actions of others to drive improvement in the education system.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field, such as education, policy, or public administration.
  • Experience of developing policies, guidance, and frameworks, as well as managing a programme of work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to promote change and influence the behavior and actions of others.
