Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Technologist to join our team in a key role that will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment systems, and contributing to the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • EHS & Compliance
    • Ensure a safe working environment at all times, complying with internal, legislative, and customer EHS requirements and policies.
    • Complete Legionella sampling to best practice, utilizing internal systems to document and monitor Legionella-related works.
    • Independently follow and document the Legionella positive response process.
    • Competently carry out LCA audit checklists on EVS suppliers.
    • Engage with the Gensuite system and associated tools to manage QEHS documentation and materials.
  • Commercial
    • Understand the commercial agreement at each assigned customer site and ensure the Account Manager is informed of any customer-requested scope changes or overconsumption to maintain profitability.
    • Work with Account Managers to ensure that profitability and productivity plans as defined by the Sales Director are met.
    • Identify opportunities for upgrades to the Account Manager, whether chemical dosing equipment, training, analytical services, or increased scope of supply.
  • Service
    • Ensure a service plan is defined by the Account Manager and optimize service activities at assigned customers to maximize productivity and profitability, working with the Account Manager to provide adequate cover for holidays.
    • Communicate basic technical concepts to customers and seek help for solutions.
    • Good and timely communication with customers and the wider Veolia team, as well as raising issues with Operations Leaders and Commercial colleagues as required.
  • Equipment
    • Calibrate personal and onsite equipment and generate calibration certificates as required.
    • Specialized maintenance of proprietary and third-party technology and equipment.
    • Operate dosing pumps, changing dosing rates as required based on onsite test results and safely prime if necessary.
    • Independently diagnose issues found onsite and escalate or rectify as required.
  • Qualifications
    • Preferred Chemistry/Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent scientific degree qualification.
    • Availability to travel within assigned areas, including overnight stops.
    • Possession of a valid UK driving license.
    • Ability to effectively support multiple managers and teams.
    • Good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Goal-oriented self-starter.
    • Proficiency with PC skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
