As an Area Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for leading a team that ensures the efficient and safe operation of our logistics network. Key Responsibilities- Lead a High-Performing Team: Create and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing, and oversee the performance of your team to ensure they are meeting business objectives.
- Improve Operational Efficiency: Analyse and implement changes to keep quality and productivity at a consistently high level, and oversee projects to streamline processes and improve customer service.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with management-level colleagues to standardise shift practices and ensure consistency across the network.
- Drive Process Improvements: Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives, and put in place actions to improve operational excellence.
You will work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, making sure it is as productive as it can be. Your main focus will be to own and drive a culture of safety and uphold quality and shift performance standards. You will also oversee process improvements within your area and drive implementation. A typical day is varied, including everything from routine team management and daily operational responsibilities to process improvement and wide-scale operational contingency tasks.
About the TeamAmazon's Transportation Service (ATS) team plays a central role in our success. As part of ATS, you will be welcomed into a diverse team that uses air, sea and road transport, as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology, to help Amazon's transport run at maximum efficiency. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions, and we put safety first as our people are our priority.
Requirements- A degree
- Relevant experience in people management
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language
- Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques
- Experience working in another logistics environment
- Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
