Mobile Plant Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team at Richard Everson Recruitment. As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of OEM branded equipment, including Volvo, Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Bell.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting inspections and local preparation of equipment
  • Performing brake testing and ordering parts as necessary
  • Helping and coaching colleagues as needed
  • Completing all systems and paperwork for the work performed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant, including bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators, graders, and loading shovels
  • Knowledge and experience of Tier 4 and 5 engines, regen and Adblue systems
  • Proven technical competence in diesel engines, regen systems, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, and/or equivalent in engineering, plant maintenance, agricultural/HGV mechanics

This is a fantastic opportunity to boost your basic salary through overtime and being on call 1 in 4 weekends. The basic rate is between £17.16 and £19.24 per hour, with opportunities for additional pay through overtime and on-call shifts.

The working hours are 07:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, with 20 days of annual leave plus statutory bank holidays. We also offer a range of benefits, including death in service, pension, company van, and fuel card.
