Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Barnet, North London. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our SEND schools and mainstream schools.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic individual to provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of needs, including moderate learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND in our SEND schools and mainstream schools.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with their academic, emotional, and social growth, and help them to achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider ALS team to ensure a consistent and high-quality support service.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and supportive in your approach to working with students and staff.
Requirements:
  • Experience supporting children, adults, or the elderly with disabilities and/or learning difficulties in a professional or personal capacity.
  • Ability to support and encourage high levels of social skills and demonstrate learning techniques.
  • Commitment to a full-time role on a long-term basis, working Monday to Friday.
  • Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students and staff.
  • Ability to understand the needs of students and provide appropriate support.
