We are seeking an experienced industry leader to join our client, a leading global business in the engineering and manufacturing sectors, as their Head of Production. This role will involve overseeing operational and engineering activities, ensuring the efficient delivery of contractual obligations, and driving business performance.
The ideal candidate will have extensive senior operations management experience within the manufacturing and engineering sector, with a strong background in engineering and a HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline. They will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a good knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant and control equipment.
The role offers a competitive basic salary starting at £100,000 - £110,000, company bonus incentives up to 20%, and a range of benefits including life assurance, medical care scheme, high street discount scheme, and pension contributions matched by the business.
As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring day-to-day workloads for teams are managed through line reports, ensuring all tasks are completed in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
- Embedding health, safety, and quality and environmental strategic factors into daily operations.
- Setting standards for safety, quality, cost, and delivery, and ensuring targets within these areas are achieved.
- Coordinating the strategic delivery of maintenance contracts for services.
- Identifying and implementing additional works and procedures to enhance work delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement activities to improve tools, processes, and people on site.
- Ensuring operational outputs and costs are linked to optimize overall business performance.
- Providing technical expertise to clients and customers, undertaking client visits and external events when appropriate.
