Care Worker

VSA is a leading social care charity providing vital support and services to individuals and communities in Aberdeen. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Care Worker to join our team at Queen Mother House, a residential service for adults with ongoing and enduring mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality care and support to service users, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, accessing and updating records in line with guidelines.
- Support service users with their night routine, providing personal care where necessary, and adhering to practices that promote dignity and respect.
- Assist and encourage service users to develop skills and knowledge to live as independently as possible, referring to the risk assessment process.
- Communicate effectively with day shift staff to ensure seamless care, participating in the compilation and implementation of personal care plans.
- Support service users during significant life changes or losses.
- Develop knowledge and practice continuously through participation in training and development activities.
- Ability to communicate well verbally with individuals.
- Experience of working night shifts, preferably in a care environment, and some exposure to lone working.
- Willingness and ability to achieve SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) as determined by VSA.
