House Steward

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced House Steward to join our team at a large estate in Dorset. As a key member of the household staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the family and property.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in butlering and household management, with experience in maintaining systems, providing training to staff, and managing maintenance and repairs. You will also be responsible for providing butler services, including receiving guests, attending meals, and managing household items.
Additional duties will include caring for the family pets, general household tasks, and seasonal duties at a second residence. You will also be responsible for managing the swimming pool and Pool House during summer, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock of refreshments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting and addressing maintenance issues
- Winding clocks and ensuring firewood supplies
- Checking the boiler, water pumps, and generator
- Managing the household budget and inventory
- Providing exceptional customer service to the family and their guests
This is a live-in position with a two-bedroom flat provided, and utilities paid. Partner and pets are welcome. The salary is £34,000-£38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
