Position Overview:
The Academy team oversees the comprehensive delivery and facilitation of engineering learning programs across our Services & Solutions division.
As a Senior Gas Trainer, you will be instrumental in providing both technical and behavioral training for Field Engineers and Apprentices. You will also manage daily operations for your designated team and site, ensuring that safety and cultural standards align with both the Academy and Centrica's expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of engineering training programs, ensuring that employees demonstrate competence in all aspects of their roles while adhering to relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Create and deliver engaging learning solutions focused on enhancing customer experiences with British Gas and Centrica.
- Plan and execute training schedules for both Academy and Field-Based programs, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
- Oversee the implementation of training schemes and award programs, ensuring timely completion of documentation and review processes.
- Ensure all preparatory activities are completed prior to training sessions, in accordance with quality standards and service level agreements.
- Maintain compliance with awarding-body and Centrica quality frameworks across all training programs.
- Collaborate with operational stakeholders and Academy teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant program delivery.
- Promote safety performance and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare Academy sites and training locations to foster safe and effective learning environments.
- Manage operational and regulatory risks, escalating issues as necessary.
- Model exemplary delivery and assessment methods, fostering an inclusive learning culture.
- Analyze learning evaluations and implement feedback for continuous improvement in learner experience and business impact.
- Work with the Academy Site Manager to ensure the Academy meets safety and operational standards.
- Oversee daily health, safety, and environmental performance on site.
- Guide team performance to ensure quality and timely progression of learning journeys for technical engineers and apprentices.
- Provide leadership for the Academy site team, focusing on culture, professional standards, and development.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must possess Core ACS plus DAH1 CKR1 HTR1 CPA1 or hold a Level 3 qualification as an Electrician.
- Proven experience in delivering technical and behavioral training programs within a customer-focused organization.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize health, safety, and environmental standards in a learning environment.
- Strong technical competence and understanding of operational procedures relevant to learners.
- Familiarity with National Vocational Qualifications, Scottish Vocational Qualifications, and Apprenticeships.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO procedures.
- Ability to manage both large group learning experiences and smaller training interventions.
- Strong understanding of learning delivery methodologies.
- Capable of conducting performance and development discussions with team members.
- Experience in guiding the progression of multiple groups of technical engineers and apprentices.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships that yield positive results.
