Swindon, Swindon, United Kingdom Monahans Full time
Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for extension based on workload. We welcome flexible options such as reduced hours or a 4-day workweek.

Monahans is a leading provider of accounting and business advisory services in the South West, with a rich heritage spanning over 120 years. Our network of offices across the South West region enables us to help businesses thrive and grow by combining traditional values with innovative approaches. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment where professional growth and work-life balance are priorities. At Monahans, you'll be part of a collaborative team that values your contributions and offers diverse career opportunities to help you achieve your professional goals.

Purpose of the Role

As the Projects Manager, your ability to deliver multiple projects, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and manage the smooth and efficient running and development of our operational projects, as well as the seamless transition of planned mergers and acquisitions into the firm, will be critical to our success.

Aims

Your objectives are to ensure that Monahans delivers on its critical projects through:

  • Leading and being accountable for the implementation of our operational projects, including the integration of new teams.
  • Coordinating, facilitating, and managing the operational integration of acquired businesses into the Monahans portfolio.
  • Championing solutions to issues, obstacles, and barriers and creating processes and systems that allow the organization to become more disciplined, accountable, and efficient in executing every part of its vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver operations and integration projects that will grow our portfolio and develop the operational strength of Monahans.
  • Programme-manage the delivery of technical and central services projects that will underpin the smooth running of our client services.
  • Measure and report on the progress of our projects across the organization in line with our weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual review of critical success factors.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders, communicating effectively and articulating complexities easily across a broad range of operational topics.
  • Conduct projects' post-implementation reviews, taking the key learnings and continuously improving our processes and practices.
  • Proactively manage any operational risks by identifying, documenting, and mitigating risks before they become a problem.
  • Develop project management capability in the team and establish reporting processes that will keep the firm informed of progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Communicate confidently and kindly with all members of the Monahans Team.

Success Criteria

You'll know you're succeeding if:

  • We integrate new businesses seamlessly into Monahans and maintain high engagement within all teams.
  • All operational projects are completed successfully - fit for purpose, on time, and to budget.
  • Each member of the operations team is engaged, committed, skilled, stable, and collaborating effectively to ensure the smooth operation of the organization.

Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • An accountancy background and a good understanding of operational and technical accountancy processes.
  • Experience in project managing acquisitions and business transfers, with multiple workstreams.
  • A proven track record of success and the ability to implement operations planning and project management effectively.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and organizational transformation.

You May Be the Right Person If

You possess:

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Confidence and kindness, even in challenging situations.
  • An excellent team spirit and the ability to lead in your area of expertise, contributing to a high-performing, dedicated team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to make the right things happen at pace.
  • The ability to inspire others by being honest but never over-promising, fostering trust and reliability.
  • A passion for providing colleagues with a great operational service experience at every stage of their engagement with you.
  • Values-driven, showing care and support for others to achieve their goals.

Benefits

At Monahans, we're dedicated to personal and professional growth, ensuring every team member feels valued and empowered. As part of the Monahans team, you can expect:

  • Competitive salary with regular benchmarking and merit-based reviews.
  • Health and wellness benefits, including private health insurance, a healthcare cash plan, and an employee assistance program.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including homeworking options and the opportunity to buy more annual leave.
  • Generous support policies, such as enhanced maternity and paternity pay, life assurance, and a pension scheme.
  • Additional perks, like the myMonahans benefits platform, volunteer leave, social events, and a cycle-to-work scheme.

We're committed to sustainable operations and encourage all our employees to contribute to our efforts in minimizing waste, reducing our carbon footprint, expanding our community initiatives, upholding our ethical standards, and supporting a culture that embraces difference and strengthens inclusion.
