Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Greenacre School, a leading special education school in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. As a Grade 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of children with severe and complex learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in preparing lessons and supporting children with reading, visual learning, and messy play
  • Provide individualized support to children who require extra help
  • Complete pupil record plans and contribute to a positive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Severe Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Understanding of or experience working with children with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Willingness to undertake Maths and English qualifications within a specified timeframe
