The Firm

Wiseman Consulting Limited is collaborating with a reputable, medium-sized law practice to recruit a Business and Corporate Lawyer, ideally with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.

This law firm has established itself as a prominent player in the region, providing comprehensive legal services across various sectors including Property, Family, Corporate, and Private Client work. With over 35 years of experience, the firm serves both individual clients and businesses.

In response to increasing demand, they are seeking a Business and Corporate Lawyer to join their team and work closely with a Corporate and Commercial Director on a diverse range of corporate matters.

The firm employs over 40 skilled Solicitors, Associates, and Directors, supported by a dedicated team of Paralegals and Legal Assistants, making it one of the largest law firms in the area.

The Role

We are keen to engage with Commercial, Corporate, or Corporate/Commercial Lawyers, Associates, or Partners with a minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience to contribute to the growth of the department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
  • Investment Agreements
  • Shareholder Agreements and Joint Ventures
  • Corporate Restructuring
  • Employee Management Incentive Options and Share Schemes
  • Limited Liability Partnerships and Partnerships
  • Commercial Contracts
  • Due Diligence

The firm offers a diverse portfolio of work, primarily serving owner-managed businesses and handling corporate transactions valued between £500,000 and over £25 million. Approximately 20% of their workload consists of commercial contracts, which vary significantly in nature and value.

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of corporate and commercial agreements
  • Meet billing targets and maintain accurate time records
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members
