Mooring Systems Design Expert

Flintstone Technology Ltd, a leading provider of innovative mooring systems solutions for the global energy market, is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join its dynamic design office in Dundee.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge mooring line connectors, tensioners, and accessories for the energy sector, including floating offshore wind.
Key Responsibilities- Performing complex calculations to support and verify design work, with a strong emphasis on Finite Element Analysis.
- Participating in project design reviews to ensure seamless collaboration and quality assurance.
- Conducting Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports, 3D models, and drawings to stakeholders.
- Reviewing and approving the work of other design engineers to maintain high standards.
- Developing project-specific documents for client presentations and approvals.
- Engaging with clients and users to understand their requirements and preferences.
- Presenting design solutions to clients and stakeholders.
- Preparing draft purchase orders and overseeing testing and reporting.
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in a similar design engineering role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced 3D CAD skills, preferably in Solidworks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Flexibility and adaptability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Honesty, reliability, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Experience working with suppliers and overseeing their activities.
- Experience in the offshore industry or designing for this sector.
