About the Role:

Anakin Seal Legal is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in the insurance sector. As a key member of our in-house counsel team, you will provide legal advice and support to our underwriting and claims teams on a variety of issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing terms of new and renewal business to identify exposures and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and corporate guidelines.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating underwriting agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and other agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes, and assisting in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Providing support to underwriters and claims personnel on legal issues related to submissions and coverage.
  • Responsible for standard policy wordings and endorsements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of post-qualified experience in insurance or reinsurance coverage litigation or arbitration.
  • Experience drafting commercial insurance contracts.
  • An adaptable lawyer able to advise on a wide variety of areas of law.
