SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream school in Ruislip. The successful candidate will be working in our Special Educational Needs (SEN) unit, supporting a child with complex needs on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with Autism, complex needs, and Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children's achievement and progress
  • Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional well-being of the pupils
  • Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities

Requirements:

  • Experience working in education and supporting children with special needs
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive approach
  • Ability to remain patient and focused in a fast-paced environment
