We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter Assistant to join our team at Lancashire Insurance Group. As an Underwriter Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our underwriting team by accurately recording and assessing underwriting risk information.
Key Responsibilities- Underwriting Risk Assessment: Accurately record and assess underwriting risk information as directed by the underwriters.
- Risk Information Transfer: Transfer risk information to pricing models.
- System Entry: Enter risks on Open Box or other such underwriting systems as are in place.
- Validation: Validate risk information – SCM and USM validation.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of underwriting data, utilizing various internal and external software systems.
- Statistical Analysis: Help with statistical analysis of the portfolio and on a deal by deal basis.
- Business Reporting: Help with the production of regular and ad hoc business reports.
- Risk Amendments: Agree standard or minor amendments to risks, within your individual parameters, referring more complex amendments that are outside your individual parameters to the more experienced underwriters.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate queries produced by Underwriters, Operations, Finance and Legal and liaise with brokers as directed to resolve issues as necessary.
- Knowledge Development: Build up knowledge of wording and technical understanding, market environments as well as risk analysis capabilities.
- Project Support: Assist with ad hoc projects and research work including portfolio analysis and internal / external presentations to stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
