Job Title: Material Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Analyst to join our team at Egis Group. As a Material Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our highway infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement asset management maintenance and renewal strategies for all structure categories, including bridges and large culverts, small span structures, retaining walls, sign/signal gantries, and masts.
  • Develop value-led, technical decision-making processes and procedures to support long-term asset management.
  • Utilize the Asset Management System, including RMMS and Decision Support Tools, to identify structural renewal and maintenance interventions.
  • Support the delivery and undertake as required bridge inspections.
  • Assist with structures condition reporting.
  • Scheme Identification/Option Studies and other lifecycle advisory activities in relation to structures renewals.
  • Assist with the identification of efficient renewal scheme interventions.
  • Whole life cost analysis, including lifecycle planning, optimization, and prioritization of renewal schemes in support of the development of the Annual Asset Management Plan, 5-year Rolling Asset Management Plan, and 30-year Rolling Asset Management Plan.
  • Compliance with legislation and contract service schedules in relation to bridge structures.
  • Support the programme of work on Substandard Structures, including piers and parapets.
  • Liaison with the CPS on-roads team to ensure consistency in maintenance regimes.
  • Attendance at callouts for the management of emergency incidents involving specified assets.
  • Assist in collating information for effective performance measurement and controls.
  • Carry out other duties required by the Structures Manager and Senior Structures Asset Engineers commensurate with the role.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Working towards Professional Qualification, MICE, MIAM, MIStructE, or similar.
  • Knowledge and experience of highway bridge asset management and an understanding of bridge inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Awareness of RWSC, DMRB, and SHW.
  • Understanding of Asset Management Systems.
  • Understanding of working within the Strategic Road Network, with National Highways.
  • Experience in Windows server operating systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Current UK driving license.
