Job Title: Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to lead our male rehabilitation ward. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to patients with complex mental health needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health rehabilitation and a proven track record of leading a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing care plans, ensuring compliance with mental health legislation, and promoting a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team in providing person-centred care and treatment for patients with complex mental health needs
  • Ensure compliance with mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act, and safeguarding guidelines
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the patient, their families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ward, including staffing, budgeting, and resources
  • Provide clinical supervision, support, and mentoring to staff to enhance their professional development
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with either RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) or RNLD (Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse) qualification
  • Valid UK NMC Pin
  • Proven experience in mental health rehabilitation and working with patients with enduring mental illness and personality disorders
  • Strong understanding of mental health legislation and its application in clinical practice
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
