Job Title: Lead Composite Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Composite Designer to join our team at Andretti Cadillac. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of composite components and associated tooling, ensuring optimal design and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Leadership: Provide engineering solutions by developing layouts and schemes for major composite assemblies, ensuring optimal design and functionality.
  • Project Ownership: Take ownership of all composite projects run by your group, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Head of Composites.
  • CAD Design: Creation of CAD models and drawings for analysis and detail design.
  • Process Support: Support your group to provide complete information for composite production processes, including materials, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Team Guidance: Provide guidance and supervision to composite designers in your group, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work.

Requirements:

  • Education: A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering) or similar.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
  • CAD Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, preferably CATIA 3DX, with a proven track record of producing accurate and efficient designs.
  • Composite Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of composite component design, composite materials, and their properties.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Knowledge or experience of composites manufacture.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to plan and manage your group's workloads, lead teams effectively, and prioritize in a time-pressured environment.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication, verbally and in writing.
  • IT Skills: Strong levels of IT skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Culture Fit: Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
