About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Manager to join our team at Jan Hughes Executive Search. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to our technical team and drive the success of our renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a small team of technical professionals to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the development process, securing grid connections, and preparing and monitoring planning stages for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects.
  • Challenging grid offers to deliver the most cost-effective solution and liaising with Independent Distribution Network Operators (iDNOs).
  • Managing workflow to deliver sites to Ready to Build (RTB) stage and supporting the preparation of commercial reviews of project headline characteristics.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Coordinate internally with colleagues to ensure smooth delivery of key milestones.
  • Manage relationships with grid operators, outsourced contacts, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements
  • Preferably a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical management within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar PV and BESS.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design and simulation software, such as AutoCAD.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations related to solar PV and BESS.
  • Excellent commercial management skills, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
